Live in Anchorage, AK
I fish lakes in an old kayak a couple times a year.  Looking to get into a little salt action this year hopefully.
Saw a few youtube vids by a couple of the guys around southcentral and decided to check this forum out.
Here's a pic of I and a freind that I took out on Skilak in April after some lakers, had to break ice to get into the water.

Welcome Barbo!

Nice lakers there.  Happens that I was on Skilak on Saturday just past -- had to go somewhere after my trip to Deep Creek for halibut was put off by early morning winds. I couldn't believe Skilak when I got to the Lower Skilak boat launch...  see for yourself.  Have you ever seen it like that? I know I haven't?

What other lakes to you like to fish with your kayak?

Moved to Kenai in 1971. Lived in Anchorage as an adult for most of the time. I have never fished Skilak Lake, lol. I don't think I've ever been on it....

So something to learn from everyone!  That's a great pic Akfishergal!!!

 Welcome!!

Nice job on the lakers! I've fished kenai lake a few times for them with no luck. Their kind of my white whale! I've caught them up north in the clear lakes but not in the peninsula lakes.

Maybe we can trade tips some time? See ya around!

Wow!  Cool. You always hear about it but these may be the first actual pics I've ever seen. How long have I lived here? Lol.

I found the lakers I've tried to be oily (which is typically a good thing) but not exactly to my palate. But my sample size is very small.

Kenai Lake is another body of water here that I have never been on. Thanks for sharing!
