I went down on may 1st and kind of paddled around checking out the place. Got the line wet but no luck. Talked to the locals and they said the bite had turned off   a week before. There is another lake over by mossy rock park. Big trout and a shallow lake. Locals said it was good fishing. Its called swafford pond looked pretty good, easy access. I didnt try it had to get back to reality and work.  The fishing bridge has some ok fishing when its on. Try a worm and a peice of shrimp 10-20ft under a slip bobber. Good luck have fun

I have a cabin in Packwood and have fished Riffe a few times...It can be hit and miss. If you go towards Randle and then head south some, you will get into some alpine lakes that hold some nice fish. Walupt Lake and Wobbly Lake are good bets. There are a bunch of little lakes all over down by the Cispus River and Lewis River. It can be a little bit of a drive because there are gravel roads but most of them are in really good shape. The alpine lakes will have zero PB-ers so that is always a plus...I believe the state record for Eastern Brook trout was taken from Wobbly Lake...
