I'm Chris, new to a form format, not new to fishing (55 years and not counting!). I live in Chandler AZ and enjoy visiting folks from Alaska when they come down to thaw out!! Some things are changing - my son-in-law and daughter and family might be moving to Kenai latter this summer. They have been working on getting my wife and I to make the move with them. We will visit for sure.

So I have been following the fishing from a kayak movement for a few years but haven't taken the first step (had lots of boats, canoes etc). I do have a question. I'm 63 and have a bad back and don't want to make it any worse. So weight is a major concern. I have been looking at the 12' Hobie Outback and the ProAngler - don't like to buy twice - ie buy the best to start with! So here is the question - is the extra weight and cost of the ProAngler worth it? Thanks for doing this form - I love it!!!!

Welcome, Chris.  What's the primary kind of water that you'll want to fish with either of those Hobies? And is it for fishing in Alaska or elsewhere? Here in AK, most of the members have Outbacks. The one member in Alaska who has both Outback AND PA12 seems to use the Outback more, but then I've only joined him on saltwater excursions.  Hope he weighs in with his thoughts on this for you, particularly if you're serious about that move to AK.
