Nestucca tide water/Pacific City

With low tide predicted around 8:30 tomorrow morning, I'll be heading out early to Pacific City to see if anything chrome is coming in to visit the fresh water. Anyone want to play hooky and get rained on?

How'd you do?  I (briefly) observed that with the big minus tides this weekend, it would have been a good time to take the clam shovel and the kayak to the coast.  Supposed to be some good spots in Nestucca Bay.

Then, of course, I got back to doing house chores.  Vacation next week!

Lots of good paddling. Low tide was very low in the tidewater area, 2-3 feet at times. Once I got above the Woods bridge it was very nice. I paddled up about 3 miles without even a tug. I saw a couple of owls and seals but no fish. On the way back the wind was brewing up 1-2 foot waves and blowing me upstream if I stopped paddling. I spoke to a few people on shore that said the fist usually show early to mid May.
