The ODFW has a searchable database online that helps you find places to fish.  You can search by species, waterbody, county, zone and get information about relative catch rate.  You can also read some info about the species and waterbodies.  Seems like it's a decent little website that never got much attention.   For someone like myself, this is potentially great AOTY resource.

Here's the link.

Zee ... shhhh, I was just about to make that site pay per view.   ;)  Might as well put the full swindle on our OR brudduhs.

This must be a joke! I tried looking up sturgeon, and apparently they can't be caught in either Lane or Douglas county. I think the ODFW needs to update their database.

I just checked the species list for starry flounder and greenling and they aren't even on it.

Makes me think how cool it would be if we had our own fishy database here. It would be sweet to have some sort of basic form to fill in -- location, date, weather, tide, species caught, bait/lure used, misc. comments and perhaps arrange them from north to south along the coast. I'm particularly interested in other anglers' experiences on the different coastal estuaries.

The database has a bit of a freshwater/lake slant to it so I wouldn't be surprised if your favorite estuary/salt water species isn't on it.
