thanks all....I don`t know where to go...but don`t mind a drive either, I do know I need to get out "there" this weekend if at all doable, my daughter is camping till Monday with her friends so I have the green light to venture and find somewhere doable I would feel comfortable taking her with next time. since anywhere is a drive for me preferable that if it gets nasty can still fish somewhere that is kinda sheltered, that is why am leaning toward sunset beach area....I would go for depoe again but am still bummed out could only get out Saturday(got to Chinook bend Tuesday nite and wanted to fish every day...).....Friday doable but decided to save my muscles for Saturday as Friday it looked like it was still pretty rocking ....anyway looking at either neah bay or sunset I guess.if doable anywhere am outta here Thursday after work....tight lines to all.

Just FYI - "Sunset Beach" and "Sunset Bay" are two very different places. I know because I've made that mistake myself. :)

Hope you're able to get out, have fun and keep safe. Report back so we know how the fishing was.

are the conditions going to be like it was at orc Saturday at sunset fri/sat/sunday?? or even worse???? need to git packing now so I can take off right after work tomarrow....I was ok with conditions at orc but came in around 10 30 cuz I was  anxious about the inbound...did not feel like surfing in such a tight spot with possibility of boat coming out....

Definetely not worse i don't think, and the launch is a dream under all but the worst of conditions.. It's just when you get outside of the inside. Sunset Bay can be broken down to three general area's.

The inside which is fishable most of the time but the fishing sucks... you will catch a fish now and then and even once in a great while a keeper Ling sneaks in there but overall it's a real snoozer.

Then there is the outside bay which can be fishable alot of times fishing whichever side the wind/swell is coming from. North wind/swell fish the north side. Gotta be near the rocks, the middle is a desert for the most part, might catch a Flounder if you drag some bait out there.

Then there is the outside which is the best fishing and of course affected by the conditions the most...4-5 foot swell with 15+ mph wind will be no fun out there
If you click the map link and zoom out once you can see the distinct areas

If you work the outside bay hard you might get a decent stringer of smaller fish or you could get skunked... never know

I can't fish on Sat. or i would show you in person but may be able to sneak out Sun. for a bit. Have fun and be safe...

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Whats doable for some may be too much for others...
