WA Boy Coming Home from CA

Hello NWKA! I live in Napa, CA and am a newbie fisherman with NorCal Kayak Anglers. Coming home to WA at the end of August and renting a home at the southeast tip of Orcas Island on Obstruction Pass for all the extended family. I'm interested on doing some kayak fishing off Orcas Island and would appreciate a few tips on what to expect and how to prepare. Also plan to drop a couple crab traps.
