well this past Tuesday 7/23 I got up early and decided to go out on the sound and scout for pinks by Lincoln park... what I didn't know is when the gates are unlocked since they were locked when I was there at 4:30am >:( but I said not going let that stop me so I headed to seacrest and conditions were less than desirable so after a short time I left and went home and continued with my day... then about 11:30am I decided to go to meridian my 4yr old wanted to come with so I brought him after convincing momma he'd be ok we got to the lake by 12:30ish and were on our way soon after and started trolling with him on my lap using the dodger and lure of his choice (good choices to pink uv sling blade and pink koke-a-nut) the only thing I did to the combo was add some corn and scent on the dodger... then about 1/3 of the way up the lake the rod starts going nuts and I tell him we got a fish on and I can tell he's excited already I give him the pole and tell him to hold it and keep reeling and the fish is going ballistic jumping diving swimming this way then that we end up landing a nice feisty kokanee in the 13-14in range and I ask him after he's had a chance to touch it and look it over what he wants to do with it, keep it or let it go and he chooses the latter so after reviving the wore out koke we release him to fight another day ;D we paddle around a little more then head to one of the parks about halfway up the lake and play in the water for awhile before heading home around 3:30pm got to say out of all the good days fishing ive had in the yak this will always be my favorite one and a great memory... my only regret is that I didn't have a camera with me to snap a pic of him with his first fish :'(

Great. You'll never forget that first fish with your kid. Pictures are nice, memories are the best.
