I've never fished for Humpies out of a kayak before so I'm not sure what gear/tackle I should be bringing to the Tourney.  I don't want to hijack the tourney thread so I'm making this one. (I hope somebody else doesn't already have a thread going.)

So far I've heard about Buzz Bombs and Hoochies.  Pink seems to be the "go to" color.  Is there anything else that works?  I've got a downrigger, should I bring it?  Trolling with flashers? Without?  I've also read that some of you are spot casting to schools.

I'm a noob at this so any information is welcome. Thanks!

I've mostly used 1/8-1/4oz marabou jigs in shades of pink or combos like pink/purple, pink/cerise, etc.  but I've also used buzz bombs as well... spot casting for them is a very exciting way to fish them because its sight casting and normally when they are jumping its cause there is a school there... trolling might work if they're not being active but I would wager its not needed and would just mean bringing more gear than you need to the tourney... personally Ill be using my fore mentioned gear for the humps again, also going to give the bug rod a whip and see if I can get some on that...

I would bring my downrigger... 100% garaunteed. You don't have to have one, but trust me you will do better with one.
BETTER TO HAVE A BROKEN BONE, THAN A BROKEN SPIRIT.

After reading some of the results from the ORC event.  I figured some would bring specific gear for BPBR "Barbie Pole Bragging Rights"   I had this strange thought that somehow someone would pull in the winning fish with one   ;D

I have a fraction of the time chasing Humpies that many do here,  but I was always under the conclusion they tend to run fairly shallow.    Perhaps that was only wishful thinking since my boat is paddle powered.

After reading Spots review of the KoneZone flashers on the home page,  I tried those and others of that same design and was surprised how manageable the resistance was when paddling.   Maybe a habit from boating, but I have the rod in the pole holder off to one side.  Found I had to double the strokes on that side to compensate.  Picked up a kayak with a rudder so looking forward to paddling normal now.
I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

Heard you picked up a nice Hobie.
