I am looking for a recommendation on where to fish on the Olympic Peninsula this weekend starting tomorrow morning. I am considering Point No Point or Fort Flagler-- I have not been to either. I am looking for king's, silvers, and pinks. I have really enjoyed Alki, Shilshole and Edmonds, but am excited to try the peninsula.

I was at point no point today from sunrise until about 1. there were maybe 10-15 pinks pulled and one silver, that I saw. boat traffic was pretty light, shore was not to bad. the key to point no point if you go is get there early, the overflow parking is a ways away. bright pink buzzbombs were the only thing used that landed any salmon. good luck!

and as a side note one guy had his dog in the kayak with him, no PFD and wearing sweats. probably not the safest idea   :o

I fished Sinclair Inlet from 6-12 this morning, no joy.  Mooching and trolling for kings until the slack, then trolling Rich passage for silvers at the slack.  About five PB joined me inside the West end of Rich Passage hunting silvers but I didn't see any hookups.  Most of the king fishing is happening in front of the ferry dock.

PNP: FYI there is a WDFW beach launch just NW of PNP, about 1/4 mile or so from the point.  It's the old PNP resort which the state now owns.  The site looks private, there is a gate, and there is private property on either side of it.  Ideal for launching a rowboat or kayak, and you won't have to compete with the beach casters and sun bathers for space.  The tide flows fast at PNP, so most paddle boats will hit it near the slack and mooch or jig at 80-100 feet right off the point if targeting Kings.  Lots of flounder and dogs around the point so keeping a herring in the zone has proven frustrating there for me.  You only get a few chances before the tide turns and starts ripping again so have leaders pre-tied and baited so you can just cut off the dogs and get right back at it.  I also picked up tons of really small shakers there in 2011 on troll gear for pinks, whenever I'd fish a dodger and small pink hoochie they'd jump right on it.  So I cast/troll buzz bombs or shallow troll a herring if fishing the shallower water on the slack side of the point when trying for pinks/silvers.  Good luck if you try.
