Just wanted to thank everyone that has put thier input up on the boards over the last forever on fishfinder set-ups.  after several hours pooring over the boards reading up on what everyone has done and your suggestions, i got my Elite4 DSI FF/GPS combo up and running with no issues.  took it out on the river today to play with the settings, works sweet.

I installed it on a Malibu Stealth 14, it comes with a pre-molded and tapped spot on the bottom next to a scupper for mounting Lowrance transducers.  A caution to anyone looking at this feture of the Malibu's - the DSI transducer does not have the best fit in this pre-molded section.  I'll have to be careful with not hitting it on stuff as it sticks down below that section of the hull about 1 inch.  (i'll try to post some pics later).

The wiring from the transducer comes up through the scupper hole in the back storage area.  i ended up using the Hobie thru hull wiring kit - thing works great, the only thing i did not like about it was the o-ring supplied with it folds out when tightened down, i just added some RTV to fill the gaps left by the folded o-ring.

for a temporary battery set up, i stole the ATV battery from my kids 4-wheeler and put it in a tuperware box bungied to the front scuppers inside the hull.  I'm guessing she is gonna want her battery back sometime soon though, and will have to get a more perminate setup.

Thanks again everyone.  i'll try to get some pics up soon.  time to move on to the anchor threads.
