You know the saying... Early Bird Gets the Pink...  Well, that was the case this morning.  Yaktrap and I overindulged at the Ballard Elks Club Pig Roast last night with their stiff drinks.  I woke at 4:30 am to my alarm and he didn't.  I beat him to Lincoln Park and was fishing before the sun came up.  There were about 10 boats on the water around the point and a load of elbows touching each other on the beach.

I had your typical pink set up of a large white plastic flasher and a pink hoochie.  My line wasn't in the water 5 minutes and I saw it thumping.  A 14" sand dab.  Back at it.  Ten minutes later I had two misses of soft pink lips.  Never set the hook.  Another ten minutes went by and the bite was one.  Had my first fish in the yak, followed by 4 others.  I kept two and the other three got tossed back.  By the time Yaktrap and my buddy Z got on the water, the bite was off.

Looking forward to the Humpy Classic next weekend.  Get your pink on!

I'm out there at least once a week, I launch from Lowman Beach and troll over to the elbow smashers at Lincoln park.
