I'm spending a week at the southeast end of Orcas Island, on Obstruction Pass and plan to fish for salmon. Also plan on putting out the crab traps. Any advice or suggestions on where to paddle and what gear to use would be most appreciated.
Thanks!

I'd use herring and a crescent sinker if you're going for kings.  pink buzz bomb if pinks.  I imagine there will be some pinks splashing around.

If you don't mind a little drive, the West Beach area is excellent for kings and silvers.  Just a little south of Camp Orkila.  Best fishing at Point Doughty on the NW tip of the island.
Nice launch at West Beach resort, but it costs $5.

Thank you all for the advice! Tried trolling in Obstruction Pass today with no love. A few fish were being brought in by some of the power boats trolling in the area, but a little slow. I'll try the other spots you suggested. Thanks again!
