Hey everyone. I've been kayaking for a long time. And I've been fishing for an even longer time. But Just recently tried them together for the first time, and I think I've caught the sickness! I'm stationed in Japan right now, but in December I'll be rotating to Bremerton, WA. I have a lot of questions, and a lot to learn. Hopefully I can become a healthy, contributing member of this community. I'm VERY interested in the salmon game. Very interested in picking up the Ocean Kayaks Trident 15' for my first boat. Thanks in advance!

-Andrew

Welcome.  The first step to recovery is realizing you have a problem.

Welcome.  You will have all winter to buy and rig a boat.  Why the T15 over the T13?

When kayaking in the past, I've jut preferred the feel and handling of a longer boat. When I get there and check them out, I might go back and fourth between the two. We'll see. Anything against the longer ride?

Nope, nothing against the longer ride.  Just be sure it fits in the storage space, and you can handle loading and unloading solo.  My first yak was a T13 Angler and thought it was a great paddle boat, with quality manufacturing.  Better hull quality than the Revo13 it hangs above in the garage.  The T15 should be a bit faster.

Thanks for the advice! I'm not too sure what my housing situation is going to be in WA, so who knows!

Thanks for your service first off! I joined the community about a month or so ago and love it here have made several friends including a few trips already with fellow yakers, which always make the experience better! In Dec salmon run is starting to die down from what i recall poss some blackmouths still but uncertain however would love to hook up for some Salt water fishing sometime when you do get up here poss cod or halibut? never fished for either in the yak yet but def would be open to it!
