I will be headed out mid morning on Sunday.  I would usually try for very early but I have a short work meeting from 9:30 until 10:30. So I am hoping I can find somewhere to park. :o

Anyone else headed that way?

I see a number of people who have fly fished for the pinks.  Would slow trolling a fly or putting a fly behind a mini flasher be effective? Or is it sight casting that makes that effective?  New to this fishery so looking for tips.

If you are on the water and see a brown Wavewalk be sure and say Hi.

First fish in my kayak!!!! ;D ;D

Great day on the water.  Got to the park during the first quarter of the Seahawks game so parking was easy. ;D  Later it got quite crowded.  I was able to easily unload and wheel (see pic) the kayak down the grassy slope and launch.  Went the left (got some good advice) and found a spot.  I tried trolling a mini flasher and hoochie, but was not having any success.  So when in Rome,  I drifted and casted toward shore.    Had the boat in 15 feet of water and was casting toward shore.  They were running close.

Used a pink squid jig with no success, switched to a marabou jig in pink and instantly more success.  Had the wrong poles with me.  Way too much for casting the small jig, but made do.

Had muliple hook ups, and one came unbuttoned right at the net!!! :o :o  But managed to bring one in.  Great fight and the sport of the kayak makes it all the better!

Borrowed the sons car.

Nothing spectacular but a first for me.

I will try and get out again before the pinks are all up the rivers.  I would love to get into some coho action as well before I switch to quacker whackin.

Thumbs up to all the great info and helpful nature of this forum!

Congratulations on your first fish-a very respectable-looking fish, at that. Your set up looks cool- very different. Nice report.
