I wonder has anyone ever beeen stopped by fish and game on the water in a kayak?

For some reason, they love me. Fortunately I think it's just mostly curiosity.  They let my barbed hooks slide once (honest mistake).

Also, if you don't record it right after you catch the fish, they will ticket you if you get checked.
On the water??? :o ???

Refer to page 8 of the regulation.  You can get a ticket for not having an ink pen with you if you get the wrong officer, or piss off the right one.

See thread from last week concerning this very thing happening to one of our own. Also I saw a guy get a ticket at PC a few weeks ago for not immediately filling out his card (powerboat).

Yep.. Nate almost got a $109 ticket for it on the water but they let him off because they caused him to loose a crab trap when the came alongside.

Only Coho I ever landed was with Pelagic in my maiden voyage of the Tandem Island on the Columbia. While I was fighting the fish an ODFW boat literally pulled alongside to check us out. When I mentioned that we were kind of busy they shoved off and let us land it. Sadly it was a native and we had to release it, still a thrill.

Wobbler and I were in the iHop fishing on a Tuesday last year when we got run down by WDFW who asked what we were fishing for. When they approached I was just sailing the TI and Steve was trolling. We had commented to each other earlier that we were the only boats on the water. Well, Steve said "salmon" and the female officer kind of grimaced, as if to say "really wish you hadn't said that". She then pointed out that it was a gill net only day and the Columbia was closed to recreational salmon fishing. If he'd said "walleye" it would have saved him $150. I mentioned that I'd been fishing for salmon earlier in the day and she just gave me a look like "Seriously? Don't make me hurt you!"

So, yes, they do check kayakers.

My favorite and easiest way that I ID pinks, is their tail is covered with lots of spots. Click on xtorts photos to enlarge them, then make them even bigger with a reverse pinch (spreading your thumb and index fingers). Take a look for yourself.

Lots of OVAL spots.

OK. I see that I badly screwed up with the catch record. That has been corrected.

And I have another question. Should I have 2 poles endorsement if I have 2 poles aboard of my kayak, but I use one at a time?

You can have as many poles as you like, you only need the endorsement to use two at the same time.  That said, it's only for certain freshwater lakes, and not for saltwater at all.
