Airport hole lucky hen

I went out to the airport hole and hung out with a few hundred folks today and didn't see a single boat with a fish on all day. Once the tide started going out for real and the current got stronger, I was able to hook up with this little 30" hen. She bit a chartruese maglip wrapped with herring. 5ft leader, 4.5ft dropper in 37ft. I was totally stoked because this is only my second ever salmon caught in my kayak, the first being a Sellwood springer this year. I was a little nervous at first about hog-lining in my kayak, but now it feels great. It felt weird having all those envious eyes on me. Okay, it didn't feel weird, it just felt great!

I got pretty motivated when I saw that 64,000 went over Bonneville yesterday.

Nice fish and way to show the PBs how it is done.
