If the weather is good, I'm considering a run down to Homer to try for kings and maybe a chicken or two if I can find them.  A few reports show kings on outer edges of the bay and not quite near the spit. But it only takes one...no, two kings and two halibut to make my day!!!

When I was a kid, many many moons ago, I'd make my mom drive me to the anchor and we did well in pitch black nights tossing the Russian river style coho flies. We were told flyfishing was the way to go and to us at the time, tossing coho flies on spinning gear was flyfishing.

I haven't heard since about fishing at night for steelhead on boards nor have I tried it. I could certainly be convinced to try. Maybe we'll see ya down there.

Didn't make it all the way to the Anchor and the rainbows not quite steelhead caliber. But we fished a tiny creek on the Peninsual that held spawning silvers and fished behind them for pan size bows. Had to keep the bait away from the swarm of 4 to 6 inch fish to catch the 12 to 14 inches. Kids had a blast as the water is crystal clear.  Not kayaking but I guess not all fish have to be big.

This is a "wide" part of the stream. Lol.

quick 20 second video.
