It's taken me a year to finally get my yak out & trolling. Am looking for some info on seats. Have a 2012 outback w/ stock seat. I know there are aftermarket that offer better upper back support. Any recommendations? I did land 2 Chinook, but am looking for more comfort.

I like the Skwoosh Big Catch and it has additional rod holders and plano tackle boxes with a detachable bag that connects to the back of the seat. I also bought the waterproof versions of the Plano boxes and I have different sets of boxes for different fishing situations so I can put salmon gear or my ocean jigging gear or my trout gear.

Landed 2 kings and want to switch seats. I would leave everything just the way it is. Seriously, those Surf to Summit seats always looked pretty comfortable. I would check them out.

That seat will probably be my next purchase! The stock Hobie seats kill my back after trolling for a few hours...it's not so bad when I'm bottom fishing but trolling for salmon really destroys my back and makes it not so enjoyable.

i thought my old surf to summit seat was uncomfortable.  The high back was nice but the seat was hard.  I had to buy an extra cushion. You would this that for the price, they would have enough padding.

Tighten the side straps and sit up straighter if your back is hurting. I added a Hobie i-Comfort butt pad to my Hobie stock seat.  Awesome.

Also, I bought a GTS Elite a couple of years back.  When I got it, it was no more comfortable, nor significantly different from my stock Hobie seat on the Revo.  I sold it.  It was substantially better than my T13 seat.

I managed to turn my Hobie seat from a back killer, to a comfy chair. I needed more upper back support, and I didn't like the way the sides of the seat pinched my kidneys. I took a piece of 1/8 inch plywood, cut it to the shape I wanted, and glued a piece of foam from a roll up camping mattress on one side. I painted the back so it would be waterproof, and attached it to the Hobie seat back with velcro. I also have a Skoosh seat pad. Instant comfort!

Think I'm gonna pull the trigger on the skwoosh seat.  Are there any special tricks for securing it to a hobie?  Did you guys put in seat pegs?

Do you have to custom-fit the pegs or does the skwoosh seat already have them?

I used the pegs from my Hobie seat. You will need two nylon washers to keep the pegs from pulling through the fabric.
