Caught my FIRST Kayak Chinook today on an incredible sunny warm fall day on the Yaquina River.  I am overwhelmed with crazy fishy excitement -- this really is more awesome than i thought it might be.  What a first!

Three guys in a nearby powerboat cheered for me when I netted it and said they never saw a kayaker successful catching a salmon.

My buddy on the camera theoretically took a video of the whole play, only to find out he didn't have the camera set right, so no vids.  Gotta get the vanity cam hooked up for the next session.

What FUN.

Nice fish,bb2 ! Great tenacity....it was cool reading your other posts about repeated attempts on the Yaquina, and then to have your hard work pay off. Hopefully your new confidence and skill will lead to a repeat performance!

Nice job,bb!

Hey, shouldn't we have a salmon pic up for picture of the month now that it's salmon season? (My  mug is getting kind of old up there, just saying.)

Nice Pic!
Did it fit in that slick fish bag you made?
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

I forgot to bring my fish cooler bag...  I think that's why i caught a fish.

It seems that i have an inordinate amount of "stuff" already...and yet, forgot the fish cooler, didn't bring the fish finder, didn't bring the extendable boom with a camera.

You guys/gals are killing me with all of these Salmon photos.   I just posted on my company email that I'll be out of the office tomorrow :)

Hopefully the fishing will be good.
