Coos Bay Coho

Fished the lower Coos Bay for Coho the last two days. Yesterday trolled for 4 hours and finally hooked a 'ho and it was about 15 inches..kind of a bummer so i went back today for a little redemption.

Today was pretty awesome with a little dissapointment. Caught 3 Coho in  2 1/2 hours. The first one in the video was a decent 26 incher, tagged that one so switched from the spinner to cut plug to try and get a Chinook and no sooner did i get the bait to the bottom and the tiniest little Coho i have ever caught bit the bait, was about 13 inches, released it quickly and put another bait down and trolled back toward the ramp.

a short time later i get slammed by what i hoped was a nice Chinook but ended up being a large Coho! Oh man, what a bummer to have to release that fish, was probably 33-34 inches!...wish i would have a video of that but i only brought one battery today and it was dead.

Great day though, got one more Coho to go to be tagged out for the rivers.

LOL..Just wanted that sucker in the net quick. Looking back though, i wish it would have came unbuttoned..

Beautiful meat on that fish, dark red as can be! can't wait to plank that up..

Nice fish Roy! I am totally missing salmon fishing. Actually I am totally missing being able to kayak! Maybe in a couple of weeks.

The 'hos are from empire up to the railroad bridge. They were thick in there today at the red marker with the B on it. lost a nice one, had three bites that didn't hook up and landed a couple jacks...

Just came back from fishing Pt. Adams to south jetty, hooked 2 and landed 4 mini jacks (12-14in.). Not a bad day for just getting off the graveyard shift this morning. Boy am I wiped but the dreams that I'm going to have.

Hey Roy. I snapped a photo of you from the control tower at the airport monday. I thought it was you, but I wasn't sure till I saw your YouTube video. Keep in mind, this picture was taken with my cell phone aiming through binoculars.

Scott, I was thinking of trying point Adams. Is there a certain time that is better for finding the coho? Or could I guy likely find himself in the fish anytime?
