Heading down to Brookings next weekend. I haven't fished South of the Rogue before. Can anyone tell me if it would be worth trying for Salmon in the Chetco? Google maps makes it look like there is a lot of structure near the beach that could be good for rockfish if the Salmon are'nt there.

Thanks in advance!

Yes and very yes.  ;D

Hit up boxofrain.  He's the expert in that area.

Just remember that anything under 30+ lbs. is considered small and should be return back.

They have been catching some huge fish this month...but all in the salt.
Chetco is still closed except for the tidewater, but not many are trolling the mouth yet.
The next rain should break it all loose.

I am going to hit the Salt at Brookings this weekend, if anyone is down that way give me a shout sounds like the Ocean will be pretty nice. Ocean Crabbing is closed now which is a bummer, hoping the lings are hitting.

We found the Lingcod today. Caught three decent ones today in less than an hour of fishing. Just doing catch and release this trip so I didn't measure them. Heading back out in the Am for a few hrs.
