Hey guys Im thinking of taking the GF out tomorrow for her Bday. Im trying to get her to hook up on some nice trout or if we are lucky a salmon. Any one know of some good lakes/creeks/section of river for any fish? Not looking for honey holes just not familiar to the area and would like to some pointers. We will be driving from Corvallis down the Alsea Hwy.

Thanks

Wes

Wes, I was just scouting the Alsea and thought a great place to launch would be on the Alsea River across from the mouth of Drift Creek -- There's a little RV park, Launch fee is $7 with parking right at the river edge.  It's about 4 miles upriver from the ocean of the Alsea Waldport bridge.  Not sure if there are salmon in there right now (probably) - might be some coho or cutts if you paddle up Drift Creek (check the regs to see if that's open) -- keep paddling quite a few miles up the creek and you'll get to a waterfall.   Have a great outing and birthday celebration with the GF.  Good Luck.
