After a very slow and humbling start to the season looking for springers, the season has finally picked up. I just boated my 13th fish this week. About half of them have come off of my kayak which is always my preferred way to catch fish. Here is my most recent at 21lb.

Nice work Daveo.  I'm glad the patience is paying off.

13 fish this week. Your freezer must look like Kramer's dresser drawers.

Nice fish and congrats on the success. What prompted the turnaround?
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

Wow, I should clarify my "good luck". The 13 fish I mentioned is a yearly total. I am not good enough at this to do that in a week!  What changed appears to be that the late summer/fall fish appeared to be In the rivers in larger numbers and liked my herring. The good news is I seem to catching more fish now from my kayak than from power boats.
