Anyone??? Anyone??? Buehler??? Buehler????

Will be chilly but manageable if weather holds.  Water should be better closer to the spit.  Considering getting run over to Pedersen or China Poot Bay area via water taxi and pedaling back (3 to 5 miles).  But more likely fish the spit area by the condos.

While I am sad to see the rod & Reel that served me so well go bye bye, yesterday my new baby was delivered!!!  Lamiglas DR90CG 9ft glass rod.  Still debating the reel and line choice.  This weekend I will likely go with Michele's Avet that has 65lbs powerpro and a topshot of 40 lbs flouro.  Mid end rod...85 bucks.  I loved my ugly stick but it was a tad light for overall one rod duty with Halibut around.  also the extra length is going to come in handy when using planers or large sinkers since my "trolling gear" is really too long for the rod I was using.

Plan to also test a mashup of my float spinning rod combined with a 8 weight system II flyreel loaded with mono as my light/shallow water trolling setup. Worked great flipping and landing reds so it should have enough power.

The new lamiglas.  Two pound weight off the end.  I think this is definitely going to be my "meat rod".

Bragged too early. 2 for 4. One dinky one and a 15 pounder! Sandlances in stomach.  If weather holds, I'll try again tomorrow.

Full report and hopefully video later. 4 for 4 today on feeder kings in four hours.  Nothing huge. But I go do crazy things to get a limit of 3 reds or 2 silvers. And it's F'n November in Alaska and I'm still fishing. AWESOME. More so than even catching!!!

Yum, yum...  One of those feeders is just begging to get cured as lox and presented to oohs and aahs at the Thanksgiving feast just around the corner!  You are THE MAN.

Careful driving back; roads are very icy in Anchorage after a morning dust of snow. Watch out for black ice through the pass. Dave is putting the studs on the cars here. Guess winter has finally caught up with us.
