I'm Jon. I'm moving to Hood River in a few months and wanted to get a leg up on fishing. I grew up in Florida, was an inshore guide and have fished pretty much my whole life. I've spent the last 5 years pursuing big bass in my kayak in Austin, TX. Looking forward to some spey casting for steelhead and salmon fishing in the Columbia. Take it easy.

Welcome to the NW! You'll love all the options here. Head on down to the Kayak Shed when you get into town and ask for a guy named Langston. He's not much of a fisherman but he'll point you toward some fish ;)

Hi Jon,
Welcome to the hood.  You're going to love the smallmouth fishing.  The HR fishes well enough, but the Klickitat, Deschutes and John Day really shine as spey water.  Send me a pm when you get to town and we can go fish.
Brian
