November Ling Hunting

The combination of calm winds and small swells in November are a rare occurrence in Oregon.  When those stars align it's time for action.

Rawkfish and I took advantage last weekend and scored big.  We both released dozens of fish and had a great time exploring reefs and headlands.  I hope y'all enjoy the gopro highlights.

Big thanks to Rawky for the net and the footage of me netting a hitchhiker while live baiting.  I'd already lost 5, including one that took line like no other ling I've hooked before.

Very nice and inspiring.I just got a dry suit and hope to start salt water fishing in 2014. Tired of only getting 20" lings off the rocks.

Thanks guys.  I'm finally starting to figure out some of the advanced tools on my editing software.  Now to figure out how to get some better angles and shots.

Ha!  Maybe on some future vid but this was some royalty free music I downloaded from one of the open source music sites.  I liked it because the begining sounds like the standard fishing show mood music.  I shoulda' dubbed a cheezy "Welcome, to Kayak Fishing the West!" at the opening.

 Looking at your vid a 2nd time I noticed your milk-crate seemed a little off balance at minute 2:20.
 I assume that you have it bungied down...but thought I'd mention it just in case you didn't.

   My videographer for that scene was so focused on getting the shot that he didn't notice his rod tangling with my safety flag.  The shot is cropped to keep the focus on the action but you can see the tangle just before the scene change.

Great video, thanks for sharing...BTW what video editing software are you using?...love the way you fade out while dragging the boat to the surf.
