Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, despite the best intentions, I don't think i will get out again in 2013.  I had visions of really finding the right audio and doing a better voice over.  But it's not to be.  lol.

Its a bit longer than most of my normal videos at 11 minutes.  I have been playing with adding some narrations and this is the first time ever I have tried it.

At any rate, I realize after compiling this video log, that I really had an awesome and productive year.  I hope 2014 holds much the same!!!!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone!!!!!

Rudy, you are one fish catching machine!  Thanks for sharing your fishing and video producing prowess.  Here's to an equally successful 2014.

Thanks all!

Anyone one this forum is welcome to look me up and with a little lead time for the price of a ticket and minor expenses, you can be doing the same thing!!! I have extra yaks! I know others have been more than generous as well.  We tend to be a friendly group up here in Alaska!  C'mon up!!!!!

Happy New Year and here's hoping for an AWESOME 2014 to all!!!!!

Finally got around to watching this - really great stuff! Thanks for taking the time to put that together. I like the narration; I am going to start messing with that too. Amazing fishing up there - it's been too long since I've been to Alaska!

Thanks again all.

Hey Jammer, get back up here so we can fish again!  I want to explore doing some red salmon fishing out of our kayaks vs from shore!!!

I am a bit amazed how well the net works off a kayak.  I think the major distinction/"rule of thumb" for me, whether its in a power boat or kayak is that you lead the fish to the net.  You should never unless you absolutely have to, move the net to the fish.  Also the BIG mistake to avoid in a powerboat, but is even more true in kayak fishing is NEVER EVER take a stab at the fish.  Of course we all do...but if you have the net at the ready without your arm extended, it does allow for some room to make small adjustments.  If you have your arms outstretched at maximum distance prior to the fish being ready, when you need to make the adjustments, you won't be able to...from a powerboat.  From a kayak, you WILL have the instinctive urge to lunge for the fleeing fish, and if your body and arms are already maxed out and extended, and you instinctively lunge, I think you have a good chance of going for a swim!

I should add that maybe I make it easier than it should partly because I am a believer in heavy gear for fishing most things.  My belief is that fish has plenty of opportunity without something in your gear breaking to get away.  So with the bigger gear, I have MUCH better control of the fish near the kayak.

Hell yeah! That was a fun trip. Brought home 110# of red filets thanks to Rudy and Mark Collett.
Lights out fishing! These pics are from day 1 on the Kenai. The Blue kayak I borrowed from Mark. Second pic is all our fish together. Awesome day.
