Anyone been down on the Kenai in this warm weather? I haven't floated it in the kayak, but have been kicking around the idea of driving down and back sometime in the next few days. Most likely I won't...I just like to think of such things.  ;D

But I'm wondering if anyone's been fishing it recently. A coworker suggested the upper b/c it's less fished in the winter. I'd assume that's b/c there are fewer fish there.

I had a friend tell me that he had a friend (yah yah, one of those types of reports) that between  two guys they hit 30 silvers below princess rapids. They said some were fairly bright. Not do much a huge fan of silvers that high, but there's got to be trout behind them.

On the other boards were saying the visibility isn't do great with all the run off.

Not the best or most reliable intel but that's the info I have.

There's a trip of folks from Knik Canoers and Kayakers heading down from the lake to Jim's Landing on Sunday. Just saw that go up on their board last night. Dave and I are thinking we might join in. River is at 6.5 feet but must be coming up -- all this rain can't have turned to ice entirely.
