2014 Salmon SlayRide Derby October 18 (Hoodsport, WA)

I'm here.  Not bad got the trailer right next to the water.  Have one pot in the water.  Ready to catch my first salmon tomorrow.

Can someone post some on-the-water reports today for me to read while at work?

How is it out there? Any feesh?

One bankie. Zero power boats, earlier there were two.  Fish finder shows nothing, but this is all new to me.  I may not know how to use it.

Packed and loaded (IPA too)   Leaving early tomorrow.  Hopefully the fisheee are in.

John Knox took his daughter out this morning for some post tournament action. Little Jade fought this monster while sitting in the back of her dad's Predator. It was so awesome when she said "my fish is bigger than my dad's"

Catching fish and winning prizes are great, but I just love hanging out and meeting new people. Like John Knox told me this weekend. It's great to put faces and real names to people's screen names. Sunrise Motel owner Frank wants us to come back and make it an annual event at his place. He's going to help rally local support from other Hoodsport businesses and he will block out the entire Motel for us to rent rooms. This weekend we shared the place with a couple of dive schools.

  I'd say we all had a great time at the Slayride Derby. And a huge thanks to sponsors, organizers. and especially those how worked behind the scenes like Doe, Dino's wife.
 
  And yes----- let's do it again.

Sounds like everybody had lots of fun and fish to, so much that maybe I should be thinking about making a trip up there next year and check all this fun out with my flypole.
