I am still in the camp that Revo's are the best all around Hobie for me. I love the addy but the differences between the two are so subtle that the toss up goes to the Revo

What Craig said above is perfect.
Wobbler
+ 1 on the Revo. And for the record, Craig tends to be perfect.  ;D
Ha! You obviously have never seen him perform a surf landing!

Like Craig mentioned, the speed of the adventure and revo are very close. The revo accelerates a bit faster but the adventure does have a bit more top end speed. Turning radius also certainly goes to the revo. Both are great offshore boats, id say demo both and make your decision from there.

That surf landing was...flawless/perfect?  Any better and more controlled and it would not have been worth posting the video.  Any worse, and it would have been painful.  A happy median was obtained.

craig...what video?

kickinback....you can rent either at the ScapooseBay extension of NextAdventure. Split your time in half and try both. I opted for the Revo13 over the Outback. The Revo paddles way better and I can straddle the Revo. Downside....there is less real estate and a little less stability with the Revo.

Don't forget about lil' ole us, up here in Hood River. You can schedule a demo just about anytime, when it's warm or if you have immersion gear. Plus it gets me out of the shop for a little bit. ;)

Shoot me a pm or email anytime.

These guys are AWESOME!!!!!! They hooked me up really good on my initial purchase of my outback and since have taken care of me when I was in desperate need of replacement hobie parts in a hurry. Customer service is AWESOME and shipping is FAST when ordering online.

Shoot the GF and I was bored one day and drove all the way up there just to exchange my NRS booties I orderd because they were too small, also bought a knife, some 303, I'm sure there was other stuff.

langcod is really good at letting me spend my money wisely up there ::)

I've heard a rumor of these guys delivering an Outback to the Boat Launch the morning of an ORC..... not sure who the buyer was.  ::)

I called everywhere that sold Hobies in Oregon and Washington. I talked to a lot of nice people, but I bought from Kayak Shed. They'll take care of you. Langcod even held the back of my Oasis up in the air for about 20 minutes while I adjusted my kayak cradle  ;D

Kayak Shed's where I got my Revo 13. Great people here in Da Hood! I may have to look into a drysuit! I'd love to spend more time off the coast...

The video is on the second page of this thread I think. http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=10554.0  If you like kayak surfing, apparently Cascade Head is a great place to go.

Some questions...

Does anyone know what the cockpit lengths are on the Outback, Revo 13 and Adventure?  I can't find any info on their site.

Also, why are the seats so bad on these kayaks?  Other mfrs pay alot of attention to seat comfort and in fact hobie did with the PA's...but year after year they use the same crappy seats on these 3 kayaks and it makes my back hurt just thinking about it.  Does anyone know if they ever plan to change the seat design?

I can't help ya on the cockpit dimensions but what has always worked like a dream for me was having a self-inflating seat pad on the factory seat.  Even when the seat pad had tons of holes in it and couldn't hold air at all the soft foam in it was what really did the trick for me.  YMMV though - everyone's back is different.
