So I am slowly but surely getting the kayak ready for fishing this spring! its only a 10 footer so I am taking it slow and easy. All I need to do now is find a way to cut out a spot in the front of the kayak for a new hatch that will hold the battery for my fish finder I just got! I am getting psyched even though its raining cats and dogs outside right now. I was wondering if anyone is not too busy this week or weekend if they have a drill and saw or something that can make a clean cut for the hatch if they can help me out? I would love to get the hatch set up and the fish finder installed. I need to figure out how to attach a 3 amp fuse and get some fun noodles to build the puck out of for the transducer. I figured it would only take maybe a half an hour to drill and cut, splice the wires and shoot the breeze and get some more ideas for the kayak like anchor and perhaps a sea anchor I think they are called to slow down my drift? Wish I had the tools to do all this myself but I'm just starting out! Has anyone have any experience with the Scotty fish finder mount?

Thanks,
Josh

What kind of a kayak you got?battery size can give you different ideas.are you using a battery pack or 12 volt  block size battery?go to a auto parts store or radio shack and get a in line fuse holder and fuse.the finder mount you have is the one that goes in a rod holder socket? I got some pics that could give you ideas for a battery box and finder mounting.
