Hey there, did a search and found an old post...rather than resurrect it, here's my question.

Any recommendations for safety reflective tape(As in strategically placing some stick-on reflective tape for better visability/safety.)

I've seen that "Solas" seems to be a top brand, albeit a bit pricey.

Also Identi-Tape comes in some colors.  http://www.identi-tape.com/USCGHIS.htm
Might be nice to get some orange to blend in a bit better with my orange OK.

Any experiences, especially "don't bother with..." or "this brand doesn't stick"  would be great!

(Yes, this would only be effective if a light source is shining on you, I still think light sources on your yak and flags are great.)

Thanks in advance!

All reflective tape is expensive....even the tape found in auto parts stores like NAPA......My own opinion is, 3M makes excellent adhesives they apply to various tapes. I would "stick with" a known quality source  :D

SOLAS tape sticks to kayaks VERY well. I found 4" wide tape at Portland Kayak a few years ago, then had letters cut at Signs Now for free. I don't recall how much the tape cost, but I remember it being significantly cheaper than I remembered.

When you put this stuff on your kayak and gear, keep in mind that if it is included in the frame of a picture, the camera is going to have a hard time focusing on you.  Place it at the front and back of your kayak if you plan on getting pics taken of you with your fish.
