It was pretty tough fishing out there today - or should say, catching...   Whole lot of fishing going on, but not much of the catching part.  Saw quite a few fish caught on the banks, with most of those looking to be small planters.  Looked to be the typical power bait off the bottom.

Did see a few nice trout caught - which I was lucky to nab one near the ramp C docks.  Measuring just about 15.5", will be smoked up and dinner for the family tomorrow!

Got to fish a bit with Wobbler and friend - good time - just couldn't find a way to get the fish to bite much!

What is that measuring gadget...similar to a Hawg Trough but not. Can't find any of those local.

I got that one locally at either Fisherman's Marine or Dick's a couple years ago...

Nice fish. I hooked 3 and landed the smallest... "My hands were too stiff and cold to work the net," sounds like a good excuse.

Nice meeting you out there, Wobbler. Glad you ended the day +1.

I picked one up at Sportsman's in Salem a few weeks ago. It was in the clearance area for $4. Google says you can buy them here too: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Plano-Expandable-Bump-Board/17126447.

Nice fish, Sam!

The bump board is made by Plano; I have the same one. It gets branded differently (I've seen 4 brand names on it at various stores) but they're all made by Plano. I got mine at Sportsman's Warehouse on 82nd in Portland. The only problem with them is that you have to sharpie the lines and numbers; they come just stamped with no ink. It floats, which is a plus.

I did say it was a nice one - just forgot to show you once we met back up!   :)

Thanks!  Felt like a nice reward for sticking with the cold conditions for the day.  The family enjoyed it for dinner last night - after sitting in the smoker most of the afternoon.

Now that you and db mention it - I bet I did pick that board up at Sportsman's - right before the 2012 Bass Yakin Classic.  Came in handy for my son's 16.5" winner!

Nice fish Sam!

I just got my monthly Washington County Sheriffs newsletter and in it they stated that starting this year Hagg Lake will be open year round!

Finally, I kept hearing rumors about this very early on last year.  I even called washington county not too long ago and they said they weren't really sure due to the campground not being started or finished yet, I dunno.  Anyways this is good to finally hear they actually announced it instead of hearing it third party.  I know where I'll be when the rivers are blown out in december and january.

They have a campground? Do you have any details on it?

The newsletter mentioned 80 campground spots being developed this year near Ramp A. That was about it.
