Laketroller downrigger install on a Wavewalk

Finished putting the downrigger on the Wavewalk.  With the twin hulls I can mount the rigger so that I can drop the ball right down the middle.  I will need a little "tool" (stick with a hook) to be able to comfortably reach the ball and clip.  When I deploy I should be able to go to one side or the other with the fishing line.  Because of the location I am hoping that it will also show up well on the depth finder.

Hopefully we get a little better weather and I will give it a go at American Lake chasing some of those Kokanee!

Dropping that close to the center line will be a huge advantage for the cat! Curious to hear how it works for you up front like that though.

The cool thing about the wavewalk is the front and back are exactly the same.  So if it doesn't work out I just turn around and paddle the other direction.  When I deploy I think I will be able to have my line to the side of one of the hulls and still be able to paddle, that way when I hook up I will  be free to fight the fish to one side.

Best laid plans and all that, so we will see how it goes.  Can't wait to try it.
