Trip 1.      Satchet Head 02/15.

Launched at posession point (baithouse) . Started off trolling towards the point in 70 feet of water, I was running a mother of pearl 4 inch plug, off a 3oz inline sinker. I was seeing bait in the area ,there was plenty diving birds and gulls with little fishys in their beaks. I paddled hard keeping my speed about 2 2.2 mph, i was running the edge of the tide rip. No action.  Got to the point and switched over to a candlefish point wilson dart. Found the hundred foot area and worked and worked and worked. Nothing. Not even a tug. Discouraged yes defeated never. Switched over to a race car spoon on 3 oz weight. Trolled my sorry ass all the way to satchet head . I was in the shallows so i could actually have chance of being near the salmon feeding area. Lol. Not a bite nothing, ok now im tired. Switched over to flounder gear. Jig jig jig jig. Nothing. What the heck.  Ok tide is pushingme back to launch.  Jigged the entire drift from almost the satchet can to the point , not a single bite. Called it a day.... only plus was i got out,and the seas were very cooperative..

Trip 2  . 03/01 Orcas Island Greenling..

caught ferry Friday night to Friday harbor. Stayed at orcas inn. 70 bucks for a bed. Went to the China Pearl for some ales.  Maybe sample the local cuisine >:D . Woke up earlysSat. Morning caught the ferry over to orcas. Drove all over the island trying to find a non private access point. Finally found something . At. Some marina.  Paddled out and fished. Kelp beds and shelfs,  not a single bite. Wind 15 gust 20 not fun. Lone behold here comes the sideways snow. Bring on the. frostbite . Numbing pain in the arms. Worst 2 mile paddle of my life. Overall horrible day.

Trip 3 03/02 Bowman Bay Anything that bites.

Got to bowman bay launched out wind was light and rain was moderate . I swear the gods are not with me. As soon as i pull out. Here comes the wind 20 mph Not defeated never.. fished every kelp bed and.shelf. used every lure i had. No bites. Paddled over 3 miles into langley bay. Blown all over hell, was followed by a group of seals ,that seemed to take interst in my kayak. Coming almost to close for comfort,  with in 2 feet theywere ppopping their heads up. Then i saw a otter playing around which was pretty cool. Saw porpoise all over. No fish.  To end the day i paddled against the EBB 3 miles back.  Stopping at every cove to rest. All in all good wildlife day andwork out..... maybe next time !!!

Its not your fault. Its your boat. Go to the fish market and buy a fish. Throw it in your boat. Now its primed for fish! This has to be done for me once a twice a year.

That's fishing some times. Maybe you've got a jinx on your boat? New fishing hat? Unlucky rod? Beautiful area up there though.

Go find you a stocker trout lake and keep it simple.or next time out use a ridiculously light leader on a light rod.maybe  you hit 3 low pressure days with no bite.

Pull out a sandwich, talk on the phone or go to the bathroom. All of those work for me. Seems to me that whenever I take my mind off the pole something happens.

Had a friend who would buy a fish at the beginning of each season and slap himself with it. Not sure if it worked, but it was most amusing to watch.

I didnt have bait onboard with me this weekend. I wqs using the gulp saltwater 3 imch shrimp and a gulp alive minnow. Still nothing.  Dripping in scent too. ..your right i should have been eating or sometging,  talking to the old lady lol. That always works for me when im plunking or bobber fishing. Ya wayne (if i remember correctly) im game on some kokanee.  What happened to bowman we were doing.pretty good that first day i met you., and by your reports not bad at all after!  I dont know. Lake stevens sounds fun i've  fished it from small aluminum a few times for kokes, did really well lots of 12 inchers .   Are you fimiliar with cavanaugh and the kokanee that are in there.  Ive heard story's. Yarns rumors facts that it is underfished and it has some beasts in the 20 23 inch range.

Bite the head off of a Herring.  I don't think it will work but I'd like to see you do it anyways.
