Not sure if there is any easy way around removing marine goop, as in when you want to switch out a transducer in the hull.

It took me a pain staking amlost 2 hours with a utility knife, pocket knife, putty knife and hammer to remove my exisisting transducer without damaging it. I am now concerned about my Outback when I do decide to remove/relocate/replace it, I was a total newb and can certainly say I overkilled the goop when I installed the transducer and puck originally.

Ideas......

Haha! I feel your pain. My transducer did not want to come out for anything. I eventually got mine free. I didn't use any tools though. Just my bare hands and a little elbow grease.

Ive had to do it twice now. I use a thin putty knife to get the edges up, then grab it with some pliers and pull as hard as I can. Takes me about 5 minutes. You may have used more goop than I did though.

I've never had any problems using a WIDE flathead screwdriver and popping it off like an abalone.

I've never had an issue removing Marine Goop either.  Narrow chisel or flat screw driver. The first time I just grabbed the foam puck and pulled - the Goop liked the foam more than the polyethylene.  Once you get it started it seems to peel off pretty easily.  I've done my transducer at least three times, experimenting.

Was it REAL Marine Goop?

I'm starting to wonder that myself.
