Ok….. I just purchased my second Kayak a Lime green OK Drifter… older model… Looking at adding a bar for accessories to it. I’ve looked at the Johnny bar and the rhynobar…And the design seems pretty basic.. I’m wondering if any one knows how to make one?

I have no idea how to build one.

But if you might be considering the Scotty Triple Mount, I have an unused one that I'll gladly sell cheap (1/2 MSRP plus shipping).

I've been debating either a Triple Mount, or the X-Wing.

As seen here:

The X-Wing would be more useful, but it is large and ugly, and probably catches quite a bit of additional wind.

Yeah, Xwing is just freaky. The concept is interesting but highly unnecessary IMO.

look thru the rest of that site, you'll find complete plans on how to DIY one from scotty rod holder mounts and a few scraps of square tube.

I used a Ram mount with a "dashboard"  rather than a bar.  I don't like reaching forward and to have it close, it would be over my legs.  West marine sells kayak dashboards now but I made my own from the bottom of a blue polyethylene chemical barrel.
