I just could not handle the thought of doing some office work with the beautiful sunshine!  So I took the day and went back to try again.

Conditions were great as far as rain goes, but with the wind it was quite sporty.  The Wavewalk tracks really well in the wind.  With the saddle if you are headed into the wind you shift forward a little bit and that makes the back of the kayak lighter and tracks you straight in to the wind.  If you are going down wind you scoot back and it has the opposite effect.  The downrigger however, made this a little be less effective than usual.  Still it was tolerable.

I was fishing the downrigger inbetween 19-30 feet and got it on a UV-green slingblade with a salt/pepper mini hootchie with red beads inside.

I fished from 9:30ish to 3:00 and did get one fish.  I am tired and probably will have some nice and sore muscles but it was a fun day.  Now to go put it in the skillet!  Thanks for all the tips and advice, I am going to enjoy getting out there more and getting to know the regulars!

Dang, it was crazy windy today, thats a solid kokanee too. Looks pretty tasty!

The wavewalk is an interesting craft for sure. I was surprised that it is under 30" wide, it looks wider in the pictures for some reason. There are no scupper holes right though right?

No scupper holes.  It is essentially a sit inside kayak. But you are high and dry, which is really nice.

I was working out at the Country Club yesterday and the wind was crazy! I went down onto the dock where my hat blew off my head and into the drink and saw one other boat out...This was right around noon. Where abouts did you fish on the lake? That wind had to be something else...Nice work on the fish!...And I mean WORK. That meat looked good...How did it taste?

I was fishing the West side of the big island.  There is a hump out there where the water goes from 65 to 35 feet, and I picked up this guy on the South side of that hump.  I stayed pretty focused on that area since I was seeing fish on the finder and caught that one.  I did spend some time up on by the S.W side where all the trees blocked the wind, to eat my lunch.

It was pretty easy fishing with the wind!  ;D  It was probably 15 with 20 mph gusts.  Probably a little too much work, but I needed to be roughed up by nature so it was good!

Taste was really good. More required!
