Who is showing up early for prefishing? Ill be there wed. Afternoon.

Backup location is Newport, but I don't foresee us needing it at this point unless the winds are outrageous.

Bluewrx02 and I will be there bright and early Wednesday morning. 
Depending on forecast, we may hit Depoe or Newport Wednesday morning before setting up camp.

Give us a holla on Ch69 if you come to either launch.

Looks like we can keep unclipped chinook "bycatch" at ORC if I'm reading the regs correctly.  Not that I've ever had one hit a Lancer Jig. ;-)

What are the regs on this?  If you incidentally catch an otherwise legal chinook on barbed gear can you keep it?

Nope.

Went out Saturday for a few hours. Conditions were pretty good with almost no wind and a moderate drift and warm sunshine occasionally. Had several gray whales spout close to the boat and saw several more from farther away. The bite as tough but we put some fish in the boat.

It was our first time out of Depoe Bay and it is another really interesting, cool place to fish. For newbies: Do be aware of the boat traffic. I have primarily fished out of Pacific City which can be non-stop dory launches/landings, but Depoe is a whole different kind of busy with whale watching and fishing and recreational boats all coming and going all day. VHF channel 80 is your friend.

HOGGS JO/MAR HARDCORE TACKLE Will be at the camp ground early Friday afternoon and at the boat ramp very early. We will be bringing Big Hammers, lead heads, some rods and reels and mor must have items. Please rember that with the lack of cell service please bring cash. I can run cards at the boat ramp.
