I did it... Now I just need to install it on my yak.

What?!!! Where did you get it?! I've been dealing with my impatience for a while now. January-february; national back order till march. March 8th (second release date) I order it, now national back order till April!

Just picked up at cabelas.

I am waiting for this model to come into town as well.  Fisherman's has the Elite 4x HDI (Downscan w/o GPS on unadvertised special for $10 bucks off til tomorrow) but I'm really wanting to get the GPS so when I finally have the guts to venture out into the ocean I don't get lost  .

To be clear.  I did not order it.  I just found it on the shelf at the store. $299 plus tax and I paid for the extra Cabela's warranty.  Sounds like I should feel fortunate that I found one at all right now.

Would you mind posting a quick review once you have tried it on the water? I am having high hopes as I loved my old 5" lowrance on the PB.

I got mine at the kayak shed, but I was just looking to share the link and they dony have it advertised anymore.

I got mine ordered online, got the gold edition. Have not mounted yet as I'm waiting for the new yak but hooked it up to the battery and ran the demo, pretty slick easy to use and i cant wait to use it on the water. Will do a review once I get to play with it on the local lake. But my opinion if you find it buy it much larger screen than the previous 4. Good luck on your search...

I got mine at Cabela's as well.  It was the Elite 4 DSI with Chartplotter and included the SD card "lake insight pro" for $299.  I bought mine several weeks ago.  I am looking forward to using it as well.  It was a easy installation with the Lowrance ready scupper hole and plate in the new 2014 Outback.

What's difference between HDI and hds models?

Give these a once over... Looks to me like HDI is a part of the Elite product line while the HDS is an entirely different product line... not sure though.

The hdi has gps,down scan, and regular sonar.

Got to finally try out the Elite-4 DSI on Empire Lake today. Didn't get too far into the gps functions but the Sonar is pretty awesome. I found the red gradient looked the best on this lake. The detail was astounding, not only could i tell the structure was a tree i could count the limbs on the trees.

We didn't see any fish on the sonar and didn't get any bites either so i guess it was pretty accurate...

Can't wait to get it on the ocean and try the Chartplotter and hopefully have better luck with the sonar finding me some fish.

So far i am very impressed with this unit. Pretty much watched the Sonar more then i watched the pole.

Figured I'd keep my highlights here. So, this was essentially the shakedown cruise for my elite... I took it out to neah bay. Over the space of two days it performed flawlessly. I love the dsi and the sonar seemed spot on. Definitely a learning curve playing with the various emus and such. But it worked really well. I am happy to answers any questions if you are thinking about picking up one if these... At this point I would recommend d it.
