Noah I am for sure gonna make it out to this event. I think I should have my cold water gear under wraps by then. Probably will before Lost lake trip too, but I greatly appreciate the offer to lend me some stuff just in-case.

Now for Rod/reel combo for salmon. What is everyone using pole wise and reel wise?  Braid or Mono? Braid w/Mono leaders? I just wanna make sure that I show up sportin the right gear for the job lol. I know I can get this info from looking over the internet, but what the hell might aswell get good reliable info from guys that are kayak fishing. Sorry that I am bombarding my intro with questions

I am more keen to Spinning reels, but I am not sure how this will pan out with salmon or fishing off the coast. I would prefer to head to the store and get a rod/reel that I can use for both salmon and coast fishing. I already have my steel head rod and trout rod's covered so I am good there.

I can bring you a couple of salmon combos to check out on saturday. Most guys are using something similar to an 8'6" MH IM8 rod. Some a little sorter, some a little longer. The Berkley Buzz Ramsey IM8 is what i use in 8'6" and is a nice set up. I also prefer spinning reels but you really want to use a casting set up for trolling. I've got this combo paired with Abu Garcia C4 5600 or 6600 reel with 50 lb braid to a mono leader. Here is some more details on two different set ups.

No worries man, I'm just paying forward the same help I got from others on NWKA. I'm sure you'll do the same some day.
