Hello all,

well Saturday I headed out to chase some kings, I launched out of vaughn bay on the key peninsula, they have a little launch that is nothing more than a dead end road that ends in a single lane launch but more that enough for a yak.  Got on the water about 4:30 pm lots of boats out there trolling.  I tried trolling a blue splatter coho killer behind a 5 oz mooching sinker, worked well but no hits.  switched to herring still not hits.  then about 8:00 I switched back to the coho killer and added a little lunker lotion to it and headed towards a herring ball, and wham a great hit and a take.  After a great fight and getting him close to the boat for the 4th time he managed to shake the hook  :'((my fault).  all in all, the other boats that stopped to talk to me said it was a slow day.  Sounds like it might be good there for a bit more so I think I am going to head out again this week.
