Hi all,

I am headed down to the Umpqua in the next week or so to target striped bass, springers, perch, and bottomfish. I have sketched out a rough idea of what I would like to do but was looking for some advice primarily related to safety and access.

I planned on targeting springers in the area west of 101 during the slack tides and if I have time anchoring and running bait wrapped kwiks. From what I understand the flows in the Umpqua are powerful. Does anyone know how they compare to the Columbia? Worse?

Additionally, I plan on banging jigs off the jetty during the incoming morning tides at least once. However, the forecasts seem fairly volatile so I am going to fish the triangle as a backup. Are you able to drive your car down to the triangle or should I expect a long walk?

Any other additional general advice on fishing the area would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't think you're allowed to drive on the beach at the triangle but there is parking just above it. You'll need four wheel drive if you don't want to walk too far. I will warn you though,  divers have speared that place clean!
