Beautiful day on the water.  Really calm.  I didn't hit the water until 10 am after I got all the farm chores done and bought this years licence.  I got two fish in the boat.A really nice chunky Kokanee and a smaller trout that was hooked in the gills. Lost another fish which was probably a Kok by the way it fought.     I stayed at 17 feet all day.  There were some fish deeper, but other boats that I talked to were targeting them with no luck . I think the active feeding fish are still up near the surface.   But what do I know I only caught one!  I called it quits at about 4pm.

Great day and a great sunburn!

Nice progression...from water to plate! The fillet shot shows exactly why I hardly ever target trout anymore. So thankful to have a good kokanee lake nearby. Also ,that's my favorite sling blade color!
Thanks for the report/photos.

Glad to see you got out there!
The bite has been pretty hot in the first couple hours of daylight...I put 4 FAT Kokes in the 14-15" range in the boat there on Sunday between 0630 and 0800...after that the bite turned off.  I worked another hour trying to get my fifth fish but couldn't close the deal.

dberd - exactly right on most of the trout.  I was surprised to find a little bit of color on this one!  I only kept it because it was hooked in the gill and would rather eat it than have some smallmouth get it.

Nangusdog - getting out there early is better and I will have to make an effort to actually get there for first light sometime.  With feeding the goats and chickens etc. it is hard to get away really early. Possible but challenging.
