You can also purchase a 12v adapter so you don't have to cut that cord that comes with it.

how are you getting a 12V connection from this thing to your FF ?  I have a blue brick and would like to upgrade, but I'm electrically challenged.  Thanks.

The EZO came with a bunch of different connectors.  I spliced the one that fits the 12V output to a 2 prong trailer plug because I already had the mate on my FF.  You could splice it right in line to the power cord.

Hey spot (or ndogg, or anyone using a battery with a usb power out)...

I got my EZO battery today...are you saying you cut the curly USB cord that came with it?  In my experience with USB cords, they have 4 wires inside of them.  Red, black, green and white.  Is that what's inside this curly one?  If so, which 2 colors are pos and neg?

12V isn't delivered thru the USB port.  Max Voltage thru USB is usually 5.0V.  Otherwise, you'd likely fry your small electronics.  There was a seperate 12V or 9/12V port.  There should be a connector/cable that comes with your battery that you'll use.

Hmm...the link noah posted earlier in this thread was for this:

http://www.amazon.com/EZOPower-15000Mah-Capacity-Portable-Rechargable/dp/B00DJG18IA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1397061940&sr=8-4&keywords=evo+9800+battery

Which is different than the one you have pictured.  The one in the link doesn't appear to have a 12v out.  Which sucks because I bought 2 of these fucking things.  Am I hosed?

Rory-
You may be able to cancel the order.  The quicker you try the better.  I have occasionally had to do this when accidentally using my work credit card to make a personal purchase or vice versa.

Holding them in my hand.  My guess is they updated the product to a newer version (that didn't have 12v out) and the link noah posted redirected to the new one.  And of course I just clicked BUY because I don't pay attention to details.

Amazon should take them back. We have had good luck with them.  It sucks to have to pay postage though.

Yeah I'm returning them.  Not a big deal, just a hassle.  Gonna give this one a try:

http://www.amazon.com/XTPower-10000mAh-Recorders-Sensation-Connectors/dp/B00935L44E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1427347304&sr=8-1&keywords=portable+battery+12v

It's the cheapest one I can find that has 12v out.  Only 10000mah tho.  Still, slightly more amp hours than the blue brick.

Don't feel bad Rory,   I am also the proud owner of a battery pack that I chose to hit the "Buy Now" before looking over the details  :(

The more uses beyond just powering kayak electronics,  the better I feel about the purchase.

My next kayak battery / holder project is going to utilize one of these.  Perhaps at some point it might even get me out of a dead car / motorcycle battery jam.  It also promotes a 4 hour recharge time which I am interested to see if that is true.

I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

Been looking for a good light battery to power a downrigger that I am going to try putting on my AI and found these http://www.batterystuff.com/search.html?q=Lfp   I went for the 19A and 12A to power everything else on the AI.

A generator from Costco and a few gas cans would be easier, work better, and last longer.

yeah, major downsides though.  gas does not store well, and noise.

What you expect?  They are doomsday preparers.  But their fear drives them to create cool things! :D

Stabil makes gas last long enough,  then dump it in your car and refill your cans every few months.  They make really quiet generators these days

Add a couple solar panels and you have quiet and gas free.  Plus solar panels can keep producing with bullet holes in them whereas a generator may not. I hear Bham is rough. ;D
