Was curious if anyone has had any success fishing Tiger Muskies from a kayak and also if there are any plans to add this species to AOTY point system.  I've had some success fishing for these from a boat but have yet to try it with my yak (the price of an out-of-state washington license is also a major deterrent).  Thanks in advance

Phillips Reservoir, in eastern Oregon, did receive it's tiger muskie planting last year so they hopefully will be chomping down on all the yellow perch that are there.  Not sure on the exact growth rate but they can rapidly increase in size.  I believe the plants were around 5-6 inches so it will be a few years before they could provide angler fun.

let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."

Last fall they put in 4inch (fingerling) tiger muskies in Phillips Res.  I just saw a picture yesterday of a 14" Tiger Muskie that was netted while they were catching perch.

That's 10 inches of growth over winter.......  I can't wait to catch one!!!!

It'll be catch and release for a while.  I' hope they eventually make it a 1 per year slot limit fish.  Should be fun!!  I haven't seen any info on ODFWs website about them.

I've had the same thoughts! Tiger Muskies are on my bucket list, and I don't get to where they are more common very often, so I was pretty interested last year when I learned they were in there.

I think that one problem with adding them to AOTY is that the minimum size up there is 50" IIRC, and per AOTY rules,

Only fish that you can normally keep and eat (per the regulations pertaining to the waters you are fishing in) are eligible.

So if the minimum eligible size for AOTY was 50" I'm not sure how far up you could go from there...
