Is the fish grip guys and the Lancet jig guys going to be there to sell their stuff at the tournament?

I know the fish grip guys won't and pretty sure lancer wont be either but will have stuff from both as prizes and or goody bag stuff...
See ya on the water..

Sure.

You can drop pots off after the first rock on your way out.  Then pick up and sort crabs on your slow drift back in.

The way I read the regs is there is no coho retention during the tournament cause the fin clipped selective coho season closes August 10th and the nonselective coho season doesn't start till August 30th.  Whats the answer will it be open?

More regs questions...  So if you have a halibut aboard you cant possess or land anything else but perch or salmon?

I think that only applies to "all depth" openings. The 23rd is not an all depth day, its only open inside 40 fathoms.

"North of Humbug Mt.: During days open to all-depth halibut fishing, most species may not be taken
/retained /possessed/landed when Pacific halibut are onboard the vessel except salmon (as regulations
allow), sablefish, Pacific cod, tuna and most other offshore pelagic species are allowed. During days
closed to all-depth halibut fishing, retention of groundfish (as regulations allow) is permitted when Pacific
halibut are onboard"

Coho appears to be closed but you can keep chinook. Should be a few out there getting ready to head up the river.

Some more confusing rules:  Once you have rockfish onboard, you cant fish for salmon outside 30 fathoms, and once you have a salmon on board, you can only use single point barbless hooks, even if fishing for rockfish.

Booked the hotel tonight for Friday so as long as nothing falls apart, explodes , or breaks down it looks like I'm in. I will try to hook up with the yaker in charge Friday pm on the way.

Ok Coosbayyaker... I'm watching MSW but don't know the parameters for your area. Are those seas doable or should I be packing my salmon stuff also. Looking forward to this weekend.

It should be good to go.  I would still bring my salmon gear just in case.

Oops looked at the wrong spot.
Ya mine reads 4.5 @ 7 sec and 12mph at 9 am
So that could be marginal.  It will be the wind that wil make or break it.
It's still a little early.  I'd definitely bring my salmon gear for the back up.
