Fishing is pretty good! Especially for kings. They were practily jumping in the boats! Fishing in 30 FOW, with down rigger at 10 feet today. Trolling about 2mph. I'd say a 20-25 pounder! Heck of a fight!

Caught the halibut in 30 FOW, bait at 20 feet. On my king salmon gear.

Weather is awesome, 60 degrees on the beach, flat as a lake

Nice! I wish I could accidentally catch a halibut trolling for salmon.  I caught a 10" smallmouth by accident the other day trolling a prawn spinner for Springers. I guess that is somewhat comparable.  ;D

Way to go Matt. Nice fish-- both of 'em.

 How was the wind ?

Wind was pretty light. It's picking up now. Heading back out in an hour or so

Maybe you can make that AI fly.....
I sure do miss fishing Cook Inlet.
Hardly ever hear of any white kings in Washington. I've caught several out of Homer.

 Have fun out there..........

I'm objecting to Matt's description that "fishing is good especially for kings..." There were three others of us there, and we didn't get kings. So...fishing was good if your name was "Matt." Otherwise, fishing sucked. :-)

I'll be heading down there this weekend.  Should I expect company?  Anyone gonna give it another "college" try?   :fish:

I'm going down to the Kenai- but I am still kayak-less. Maybe I'll come watch as you all launch boats- need to learn a bit more about all the gear and rigging thats needed.
Cut 'em straight. Fish 'em deep.

We're likely to be on the Peninsula too -- but it's a moving target for me with other responsibilities. CRV -- going to Whiskey Gulch or elsewhere? We'll try to connect if possible. Good luck in any event!

I'm flying back from Adak on Friday. Not sure about Saturday but I'm going to try and make it down at least Sunday. The intel is fish first light. Matt caught his super shallow 10ft deep in 30ft of water. Also getting good reports still from the power boats. Big feeder kings. Halibut has been spotty.
