The season for summer chinook is about to open on the Columbia.  Does anyone know of kayak friendly areas where this might be possible?  Seems like it's just on the main stem Columbia and the water has been high, cold, and fast recently, probably not ideal of kayaks.

My area (the Upper Columbia). :D

Our season won't open till July 1, but the weather is much more comfortable, many of those fish are headed to this area and the flows are easier.

In your area I'd look for soft water on the inside of bends, just inside the current break. I've been reading that bankers are expected to do well, because of the high flows.

Wonder if the Beacon Rock area might be fishable?
